Welcome to Our Preschool & Children's Ministry!
At First Baptist Locust Grove, children are important! Our goal is to help families in leading their children to a personal faith in Jesus Christ and to develop them into devoted disciples.
All of our programs are aimed at creating a fun, exciting, and safe environment where children can learn Bible truths and how to put them into action. Scroll down the page to find out more about Faith at Home, Sunday School, wednesday night activities, and upcoming events.
Faith at Home
God intends for parents to provide the primary spiritual training for their children. We believe it is the church's responsibility to help parents by providing training for them. Faith at Home is our new, one year, focus on equipping parents to build faith in their homes. We will focus on ten Christian disciplines and character traits throughout the year. Every five weeks, parents will attend a "Take-it-Home" event where they will be trained on different ways to build faith in the home through a particular discipline or character trait. The "Take-it-Home" event dates and topics are listed below:
January 24th- Bible Study
February 21st- Prayer
March 28th- Love
May 2nd- Worship
June 6th- Fellowship
July 11th- Evangelism
August 15th- Missions
September 19th- Scripture Memorization
October 24th- Thanksgiving
November 28th- Secret Service
Sunday School
On Sundays, we offer a time of Bible learning in our Sunday School for all ages. Our Sunday school classes meet at 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. on our preschool and children's halls. If you want your children to learn Bible truths and practical ways to integrate those truths into their lives, then you want them to attend one of our Sunday School classes.
Children's Church is at 9:45 for 3-4 year olds and at 11:00 for Kindergarten thru 3rd grade. These times offer a fun and interactive environment where children can learn about God through songs, stories, games, and crafts.
On Sunday nights, children in grades Kindergarten thru 6th participate in our Children's Choir starting at 6:00. This Fall the children will be working on "Christmas County Spelling Bee" and will be performing on November 29th. We also have a Preschool Choir for children ages 2 & up.
Wednesday Nights
On Wednesday nights, we offer TeamKID for kids Kindergaten thru 6th grade. TeamKID is a fun filled ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him.
We also offer a time of story, games, and craft for preschoolers on Wednesday night. Preschoolers learn basic truths about God through each of these activities.

Route 56
Route 56 is a new ministry that just started in August. We realized the need to minister to preteens, 5th & 6th graders, on their own level. That is why we started Route 56.
Currently, we have Sunday school at both hours for our preteens. We are working on having a Wednesday night program for them also. On Wednesdays, they meet with the K-4th graders in TeamKID.
